According to a recent study by homes.com, 40% of people believe they will NEVER live in their dream home! A whopping 40%!?!
The survey of 2,000 Americans produced some really interesting facts…
- The Average American home with all desired amenities would have an average cost of $879,000!
- Most participants desire a home with 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, an open kitchen, and hardwood floors.
- Other amenities popular on people’s wish lists? Beachy decor, a 2-car garage, a backyard deck, a walk-in closet, plenty of storage, and neighbors located “down the street.”
Participants agreed on many desired amenities. It’s fascinating to find the desires that DIFFER were connected to the participant’s age.
Millenials value higher square footage. Baby boomers like less. Millenials want more rooms (i.e… a movie theater, wine cellar, playroom for the kids). Baby Boomers value more traditional features (walk-in closets, fireplaces, lots of storage and windows).
